Further evidence of Rip off Britain
Further evidence came out yesterday in a survey carried out by What Car? that motorway services are gauging the already hard-pressed motorist.
WH Smith motorway services are charging 91 per cent more at its motorway retail outlets for a bottle of water than on the High Street.
Marks & Spencer are also charging inflated prices, up to 25 per cent more than their High Street outlets. This is unforgivable and a clear example of the average consumer yet again being ripped off by big business.
If David Cameron wants to set up a big society with fairness and equality to all then perhaps he should have a manifesto pledge for the next election that all motorway services will be closed down. Motorists should stop going to these places and plan their journeys to avoid the rip-off to the British motorist.

I was recently made aware of research by the road safety charity, Brake, indicating that some drivers on rural roads have admitted overtaking slow moving traffic on single carriageways on country roads. The charity claims it is the epitome of stupidity to overtake at more than 60 mph. This is absolutely ludicrous and [...]
Why people get disillusioned with the police
I had the opportunity of representing a young man before a Court in West Yorkshire today who faced allegations of aggravated vehicle taking and driving under the influence of drugs. I had met the young man’s parents some months ago when his case first came before the Magistrates and the father was quite proud [...]
Bread, milk, butter, tea bags…oh and don’t forget to pick up your driving licence
I read with some amazement on Sky News that the government are planning to close driving test centres and let the whole process of examining people’s suitability to drive be put in the hands of independent contractors.
They have indicated that tests could take place at supermarkets. Where is all this going to end? [...]
Councils won’t pay for speed cameras because they don’t receive the revenue
Further announcements on the BBC breakfast programme today concerning councils in the West Midlands turning off speed cameras across their area. The official line from the councils is that there simply is not enough revenue to fund the road safety projects assisted by speed cameras. This is complete and utter rubbish. This [...]
