Police Constable Christine Thomas went to work recently in Northumbria to start her shift as a police officer having consumed what she describes as three cans of cider. She has of course been banned from driving and fined for her escapade.
She must be friends with Janice Hawke the Devon midwife who was arrested for drink driving on her midwifery round and was found with a bottle of gin, tonic and a glass with lemon inside the car. She also was banned from driving for three years.
It is clear the pressure of working for the police or the Health Service is getting to their employees. Maybe they could go on strike again and at least these two will know what is like to walk to protest for a pay rise.
