• I recently appeared before the Magistrates’ Court in Derby facing an allegation of driving at speeds described by the Prosecution as up to 143 miles per hour. Chris represented me at Court and was able to demonstrate to the Magistrates that the speed detection equipment used by the officer in the case was inaccurate and therefore could not be relied upon. In those circumstances the Magistrates convicted me on my version of events that I was travelling at 85 miles per hour and sentenced me to three penalty points on my licence and a £60 fine.
